Review: Chipotle Mexican Grill

Review: Chipotle Mexican Grill

I found out a couple of weeks ago that there is now a Chipotle restaurant in Vancouver, and after reading so many good things about the food online I couldn't wait to try it for myself. I am so excited about how allergy friendly the website is, with a section for special diet information about all of the food served in the restaurants. Chipotle also has no nut products on site, and uses very limited dairy products, making this a very food allergy friendly spot. DSCN1173

The menu itself is fairly simple, containing: burritos, burrito bowls, crispy tacos, soft tacos, salad, chips & guac, and a kids menu. I equated the ordering process to that of Subway, except with Mexican food. I ordered a burrito, in which I could choose the type of meat and beans I wanted, which was layered on top of rice, then I could add various veggies, guacamole, salsa, sour cream and cheese. It was super simple and quick; despite a long line, I was out of there in less than 10 minutes.

It was so delicious! The portion size was absolutely massive; I made it about three-quarters of the way through before admitting defeat. I was so surprised by how light the burrito felt, as I normally feel really full and weighed down by Mexican food. And the guacamole was fantastic, hands down my favourite part of the entire burrito. For $9, it was a great deal for on  the go lunch that tastes and feels better than eating traditional fast food.

Have you ever been to Chipotle? What's your favourite thing on the menu?
