Foodie Pen Pals Reveal - May 2013

Foodie Pen Pals Reveal - May 2013

This month I received a box of goodies from Steph, who not only introduced me to some of her favourite things, but also went out of her way to find mo some new things to try that fit within my allergies. I love that about this program, that through shopping for other people and doing good things for other people, you not only find new foods you wouldn't have normally tried but you also get to experience other lifestyles and other ways of thinking and eating. Every month it continues to amaze me. DSC_0018

Look at all this stuff!

I have been really getting into trying different flavours of popcorn, and white cheddar and green chile was definitely something I had never tried before. I also am not the greatest with spicy food, I used to completely pass by those products, but I am so glad Steph sent them to me; this is something I would have never tried, but love, so yay for getting out of my comfort zone.

The snack bar at the top left was really delicious, chocolate and wafer cookies are always a good pair. Unfortunately the Wonka Mini Chewy Sweetarts have egg ingredients in them, but luckily I have a sister who is a sugar fiend and she was happy to take those off my hands. The lollipops are a mango and ginger variety which actually have a really cool spicy, fruit taste to them.

I had no idea there was such a thing as Snapea Crisps, but they are a genius idea, they make a great snack. And the 479 black truffle and white cheddar popcorn actually has the most interesting taste. I did not expect it at all, it's a little bit like cheddar and black pepper, but totally different. I'm really not explaining this very well.

This little Enjoy Life cookie packs remind me so much of being in elementary school and having the Dad's cookie packages for a treat at lunch. And these cookies are so delicious, and free of pretty much every allergen. The bag at the top is full of chocolate covered coffee beans, need I say more. And the little candies at the bottom are ginger candies, like the lollipops above, and they are really cool. Not super sweet, a little tangy and very yummy.
