Foodie Pen Pals Reveal - April 2013

Foodie Pen Pals Reveal - April 2013

I can't even explain how much fun this program is! I received a package from Ashleigh this month, and every single item in the box I had never tried before. Ashleigh is from Toronto, and is fairly new to the program like myself. She sent me a detailed list of questions about my favourite foods and where I'd like to travel. And she was also so great at finding things I am able to eat, as well as a lot of new vegan products I had never heard of. DSC_0016

LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF! My sister and I had a fun time unboxing and opening up all the snacks. She also sent me an art card with work by Georges Meis, because I said I have always wanted to visit Greece.

I couldn't believe that Ashleigh made not one, but two batches of kale chips for me, one nacho cheese flavour and the other sour cream and onion. She said she has a favourite brand of kale chips she wanted to send me, but they do have nuts in them and those unfortunately don't work for me. And I love kale chips; my Aunt has a great recipe for them. I really enjoyed how Ashleigh gave these kale chips such a great flavour, they really do taste like a lighter potato chip.

I can not even begin to describe how amazing this cookie is. I have never been able to eat packaged treats like this, so to find a vegan double chocolate chip cookie, it's just heaven.

I think it's great how Ashleigh found so many healthy, yet delicious treats to share with me. It's nice to be able to snack on cookies and not feel terrible about it after.

I thought this was such a cool idea. A little tube of trail mix, with seeds and dried cranberries and apples, that is so great for throwing in a purse of backpack.

These are actually some of the most delicious cracker/chips, with a little bit of spice. They are a perfect bit-size, crunchy but also really light.

These are also a great little cracker. They have a really light, crunchy, fruity flavour. The crackers are really thin, yet they do feel filling.

I saved the best for last. I had said to Ashleigh that popcorn is one of my favourite foods of all time, and I received this bag of awesomeness. Chocolate covered kettle popcorn. Oh. My. Goodness. It's amazing, you just need to try it.
